Alscore design and manufacture of Ultrafiltration water plants to suit industrial and commercial markets with the highest quality standards.
Ultrafiltration is a pressure-driven membrane separation technique used to separate suspended solids from solutions. The pore size of the UF membranes (0.02µm – 0.03µm) represent a physical barrier against most particles, suspended matter, colloids, bacteria and virus.
Ultrafiltration modules are very suitable for removing turbidity from water, however dissolved substances are not removed by UF modules. Removing dissolved substances will require them to be transformed first into particulate form or the use of other techniques such as Reverse Osmosis.
Like any other filtration method, there are limits to the feed water and pretreatment will be required if the feed water quality is outside those limits. In general turbidity is limited to 50 NTU, TSS are limited to 20 mg/l and TOC is limited to 10 mg/l. Like any other membrane separation method, Ultrafiltration membranes are very sensitive to oil and grease and both need to be removed beforehand if present.
As an example, removal of Iron (Fe) or Manganese (Mn) is dependent on the oxidation state of these metals. They can be removed by Ultrafiltration if they are in particulate (oxidised) form but not if they are in dissolves (reduced) form.
Alscore design and manufacture fully automated Ultrafiltration water plants with PLC/HMI control and reporting options. Dry contacts are provided for pretreatment units or storage tanks and MODBUS communication is available for integration with other BMS or industrial interfaces.
There are several reasons to consider Ultrafiltration as an excellent choice for pre-treatment or drinking water production:

When customers come to us looking for an Ultrafiltration water treatment plant, one of the hardest questions to answer is, How Much Does an Ultrafiltration Plant Cost?” The costs can be complex to estimate based on several factors but in general, and assuming that no pre-treatment is required other than a basic filtration, a 50m3/day will cost between $40,000 and $60,000.
Other important costs that will need to be considered are civil works, installation works, freight to site, and local permits.
When Alscore design and manufacture an Ultrafiltration water plant any lack in the whole scope is advised to prevent hidden or unexpected costs.
